Bled Castle offers a variety of programs tailored to the needs and interests of your school – from historical tours and workshops to creative activities and themed programs. STUDENTS IN THE MIDDLE AGES

Interactive Medieval Animation

This special animation is designed for kindergartens and primary schools. The experience begins on the lower castle terrace, where the count and countess welcome visitors with fanfare. Speaking in the Gorenjska dialect, they introduce the castle and guide the children to the upper terrace for a colorful medieval performance. Afterwards, children are divided into groups to hear the story of Lake Bled’s island, try their hand at archery, and explore the museum in a playful way. The visit ends with a farewell from the noble pair.

BLACK AND WHITE

Experience the Castle Printing Works

The castle print shop features a reconstructed Gutenberg press. The printer demonstrates traditional techniques using handmade paper, lead type, and historical clichés. Students can assist in the process, create a souvenir print, and learn the value of the "black art." The program is flexible—offered either as a short demonstration or a hands-on workshop.

HISTORY OF BLED CASTLE

Castle Museum

Located in the Baroque part of the castle, the museum presents the rich history of Bled from its earliest settlements to modern times. The permanent exhibition by the National Museum of Slovenia is divided into eight thematic sections, combining nature, daily life, craftsmanship, spirituality, and culture. It offers young visitors an engaging and accessible way to explore the heritage of this scenic part of Slovenia.
