Past event

Medieval Days at Bled Castle traditionally take place on the first weekend of June, June 3–4. This year, the event is expanding into May for the first time. On the first Sunday, May 7, all brave, strong, and fearless men are invited to test themselves in medieval challenges once used by knights to conquer lands and win hearts. The following Sunday, May 14, will be more dedicated to ladies, who will exchange a thousand and one secrets used in the past to enchant knights—and even send them to war. To keep any rivalry at bay, children are invited on the final Sunday of May, May 28, to chase away the overly serious knightly-lady drama with their laughter and mischief—so that everyone can come together and celebrate at the grand event on June 3–4.

Camp in the castle park

Lambergar’s army, stationed in their camp below the castle, remains prepared even as festivities unfold in and around the castle. Throughout the day, knights train in sword fighting, throwing medieval weapons at targets, and archery. When visiting the camp, you can pick up a scorecard to track your results in various knightly skills.

The camp will be open to visitors daily from May 28 to June 4, between 10 AM and 6 PM.*

June 3 and 4 are when things truly come to life

As the first nights of June arrive, everything is finally set for the grand celebration on the castle rock. Bled Castle transforms into a scene of splendid receptions for graceful ladies and brave knights, their elegant dances, sword-fighting displays, and not to forget, the entertaining court jesters. The medieval market below the castle is no less lively, with artisans showcasing their refined skills. There’s plenty of delicious food and drink for everyone—an essential in the demanding rhythm of celebration, where some may otherwise falter. And for those whose feet get especially itchy, this is the perfect place to learn some light-footed dance steps.
