A visit to Bled Castle and the castle park can be combined with a pleasant walk or bike ride. Numerous walking trails lead to us, from Rikli’s path, the path from Slovenski trg, to the trail across Višce.

The Third International Historical Archery Tournament will take place from May 14 to May 17.

You are warmly invited to join us at the opening ceremony on Thursday, May 14, at 7:00 PM in the Festival Hall Bled.

During this time, the exhibition The Path of the Arrow – Art That Takes Flight will be on display at STOLP Gallery at Bled Castle. The exhibition presents the process of crafting handmade, unique arrows by Benjamin Kuster. You are invited to the exhibition opening on Friday, May 15, at 6:00 PM in the Knight’s Hall.

The competition will take place on Friday and Saturday from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Competitors are divided into three styles based on the type of bow and four categories according to age groups. Participants are required to wear historical costumes that evoke the spirit of medieval archery.

The competition course in Bled features historical targets of various sizes and shapes. They are set along a route that begins in the castle park, where some targets are visible to visitors, continues through forested areas closed to the public for safety reasons, and concludes on the terrace of Bled Castle with the 18th target.

The archery range in Bohinjska Bela is equipped with 3D targets shaped like animals and fantasy creatures, with marked scoring zones. The targets are arranged across varied grassy and forest terrain, creating a hunting-like experience.

The best archers will compete in the finals on Sunday, May 17, between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM in the castle park, where visitors will be able to watch the exciting conclusion of the tournament and the award ceremony.

For safety reasons, access to competition areas will be restricted. However, part of the program will still be available to visitors. During the event, the Bledec and Višce walking paths will be closed, while other routes will remain open and clearly marked. Proper guidance will be provided.
