A visit to Bled Castle and the castle park can be combined with a pleasant walk or bike ride. Numerous walking trails lead to us, from Rikli’s path, the path from Slovenski trg, to the trail across Višce.

At the end of November, the castle will begin to shine in its holiday splendor!

Clad in Advent decorations and thousands of twinkling lights, the castle invites you to explore its grounds, breathe in the magical atmosphere and feel the warmth of holiday season in the embrace of a historical environment.

The castle chapel will bet turned into a nativity scene accompanied by the sounds of Christmas music.
On Christmas Day, the costumed medieval group will perform Dance with the Lord of the Castle, bringing the spirit of history to life. The group will also perform on  1 January and 7 January 2026, all shows beginning at 11 a.m.

During Advent, the upper courtyard of Bled Castle will bloom with a different type of flowers – flowers borne out of clay, fire, colour and imagination. The ceramic winter flowers created by the artistic duo Barba Štembergar Zupan and Nik Zupan will gently unfold their petals in the cold, as if the warmth of the heart could move the ice. In their quiet stillness glimmers a promise of eternity — flowers that never fade, but instead, ignite lights and open a dialogue with the public space and its visitors.

The artists run the Institute V-oglje, which was accepted into the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) – a UNESCO partner organization – in 2011, making them the first Slovenian members of this global institution.

During this year’s festive season, your visit to the castle will also include admission to the exhibition “The Story of Potica” in the STOLP Gallery.

The exhibition presents potica as a symbol of family togetherness, warmth, and Slovenian hospitality, while also revealing its regional variations and role in celebrations. The festively set table is complemented by original chocolate pralines with potica-inspired fillings – a blend of tradition and modern flavors, a new piece in the mosaic that is the story of an iconic Slovenian dessertpotica!

Sprinkle your holidays with the smell of potica, the glow of castle lights, and art!
