A visit to Bled Castle and the castle park can be combined with a pleasant walk or bike ride. Numerous walking trails lead to us, from Rikli’s path, the path from Slovenski trg, to the trail across Višce.

The Slovenian tradition of setting up nativity scenes dates back to the 17th century, when they first appeared in churches and monasteries before spreading to homes and public spaces. To this day, the nativity scene remains an essential part of Slovenian Christmas culture, blending religious devotion, artistic expression, and folk heritage.

During the holiday season, visitors to the castle can admire a nativity scene in the castle chapel. Each year, Zdenka Pintar, Lojze Ropret and Davorin Bernard, all of them natives of Bled, craft this beautiful depiction of the birth of Jesus with remarkable dedication and attention to detail. Accompanied by the sounds of Christmas carols, the charming figures of the nativity will be on display throughout the festive season, until 2 February 2026 (Candlemas).

The display in the unique castle setting above Lake Bled combines tradition, art, and festive experience. Every year it attracts numerous visitors, inviting them to open themselves up to serenity, contemplation, and holiday cheer.
