In the Stolp Gallery at Bled Castle,
Darja Kemperle: Awakened Dream, painting exhibition
In the
Stolp Gallery at Bled Castle, an art exhibition featuring the works of Darja
Kemperle will be on display from 1 October to 31 October 2023.
Darja
Kemperle, for whom the exhibition at the Stolp Gallery is the first solo show,
began her journey in painting in her mature years. Painting courses and
workshops led by academically trained painters such as Brina Torkar, Matjaž
Arnold, Anja Tolar Tomšič and Jurij Kravcov have left an indelible mark on her
works and have determined her drive for further education and her quest for an
artistic expression. Currently, Kemperle is attending an online course by the
English visual artist, Luise Fletcher, a devotee of abstract painting.
Since 2018,
she has been a member of the Atelje Bled Painting Society and has participated
in various plein air events in Slovenia and in Grožnjan, Croatia. Within the Society,
she has contributed to several thematic group exhibitions. She is the recipient
of the "Bled Grand Prix" award for her painting titled "Dreams
1" at the 2022 Bled Ex Tempore event.
According
to the author, painting brings her a sense of tranquility and introspection.
Through her art, Kemperle beckons the viewer to embark on a journey of
self-discovery through the act of contemplation. She follows the trends of
contemporary painting, from semi-abstract landscapes to pure abstraction.
The
exhibition at the Stolp Gallery at Bled Castle will be open until 31 October,
every day during the Castle's opening hours.
Admission
to the exhibition is subject to payment of an entrance fee to Bled Castle.
