Weddings at Bled Castle

To check the available dates for a wedding ceremony at Bled Castle, please contact us via email at weddings@zkbled.si. If you wish to have a civil wedding, you will then need to book the date with the Radovljica Administrative Unit. Civil wedding ceremonies at Bled Castle are held on Fridays and Saturdays. We also offer the option for symbolic wedding ceremonies, vow renewals, and proposals.

The castle escort will greet the guests, groom, and bride at the Bled Castle parking lot, then escort them to the lower courtyard. A few minutes later, they will be greeted by the Lord and Lady of the Castle, who will also invite the guests to the wedding location. The official part of the ceremony lasts about 20 minutes. After the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrate their new union by sabring a bottle of sparkling wine. Additional services available include custom wine bottling at the castle's wine cellar, printing of a memorial marriage certificate on a vintage printing press, or a 20-minute medieval show with sword fighting, fire breathing, and dancing.

Wedding ceremonies at Bled Castle take place in three locations:

• Under the stone canopy (lapidarium) on the upper courtyard,
• In the Knights' Hall,
• In the Castle Park.

The Knights' Hall can accommodate up to 100 people, with 70 seating and the remaining guests standing. If the ceremony takes place under the canopy (lapidarium), 40 to 60 chairs can be placed on the panoramic terrace next to it.

The recently renovated Knights' Hall is always set up as a backup option so you don’t need to worry getting all wet in case of bad weather. Due to its serene and quiet vibe, the Knights' Hall is the preferred option for many couples who value privacy over views.

At Bled Castle, we offer two wedding packages – an intimate wedding package for up to ten people and a classic wedding package for up to 100 guests. For weddings outside this size range, or for custom events such as surprised proposals or vow renewals, contact us at weddings@zkbled.si. 

As a cultural monument of national importance, Bled Castle is primarily intended for visitors who purchase a ticket, and access to all areas of the castle must be available to them during the castle's opening hours. Complete privatization of the castle is unfortunately not possible; however, we will fence off your chosen wedding location to ensure as much privacy as possible. The castle staff will do their best to minimize disturbances from visitors.

After the ceremony, you can continue the celebration at the Restaurant Bled Castle, where the Hiša Jezeršek team ensures an exceptional culinary experience. You can choose from festive dinners, cocktail receptions, or casual gatherings. The reception can also take place on the castle terrace, which offers a stunning view of Lake Bled and its surroundings.

Bled Castle offers a wide range of additional services to make your wedding day even more unforgettable. Additional services include:

• A medieval show with sword fighting, fire breathing, and dancing.
• A 7- or 9-liter bottle of sparkling wine,
• Printing of the marriage certificate at the castle printer's,
• Wine bottling and sealing in the castle cellar.
